Multi-band Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit Solutions

VT Silicon is a fabless semiconductor company that designs and manufactures multi-band radio frequency integrated circuit solutions for the mobile wireless broadband market. The Company's products leverage novel linearization and efficiency enhancement technologies that enable Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), and reference design houses to manufacture broadband, highly efficient, low-cost, and small footprint modules and transceivers

Highly Linear, Intelligent RF™

Our primary product focus is on “highly linear” power amplifiers and complete multi-band front end solutions for battery powered 4G (LTE, WiMax) mobile devices. Our proprietary Linearity Enhancement Technology (LET™) enables us to use lower cost fabrication technologies (Silicon Germanium BICMOS, also known as SiGe) to effectively compete with traditional, higher cost (Gallium Arsenide, also known as GaAs) products. SiGe also enables the integration of sophisticated control circuitry directly into our chips (Intelligent RF™) so that the configuration and performance can be optimized for operational, process, and environmental variations. SiGe provides a platform for a fully integrated, software configurable, single chip, multi-band front end device which would compete effectively (cost, yield, performance, and size) with today’s “multi-chip” front-end modules (FEMs).

4G LTE & WiMax - The Next High Growth Device Markets

Our primary market focus is on providing highly linear power amplifiers and complete multi-band front end solutions to the mobile broadband wireless markets where the RF signal is very complex (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, also known as OFDM). This type of RF signal is used in the upcoming 4G mobile markets, including the cellular LTE (Long Term Evolution) and WiMax markets.

Both LTE and WiMax employ OFDM RF transmissions making them excellent targets for high linearity power amplifier devices. These markets are emerging as the next “high growth” mobile device market as initial deployments begin around the world. Most market forecasters believe that these markets will achieve device volumes comparable to the existing cellular handset and WiFi markets. Some forecasters believe that WiMax may in fact consume much of the existing WiFi manufacturing demand.
